I’m bored and have some free time so I figured why not put up another chapter? It’s icy (literally) cold outside so I’m not leaving the house unless it’s on fire. It isn’t even officially winter yet and I’m already over it.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and no one was trampled on Black Friday. I refuse to go shopping on Black Friday. I worked retail for a few years and that was enough to turn me off it for life. On top of that, I saw some videos of folks stampeding at Walmart… holy cow. Amazon Prime on cyber Monday was more my jam. I’ve got a double batch of chocolate chip walnut cookies to make this week to get ready for Christmas. Anyone else big on holiday baking? Come to think of it, maybe I’ll make a double batch of Snickerdoodles too… #cookiemonster
Well I officially feel like death so right now I am most thankful for cold medicine that allows me to sleep through whatever bullshit virus I seem to have picked up. I’m going to guess that by the time most of you are done with this chapter you’ll be thankful for cold showers. To our American readers, Happy Thanksgiving! To all, thanks for reading!
Sorry about the delay! I had my family’s Thanksgiving this weekend so I was one busy lady but it was well worth it. I was too exhausted by the time everyone left last night to do much of anything but lay on my bed like a giant slug. Happy reading!
Since I had a little pocket of time while I’m working on making dinner, I thought I’d give you the next chapter. Hopefully this will help keep anyone in colder climates warm. Happy reading!
I’m over winter and it isn’t even officially here yet. Meanwhile my heart hurts for everyone in California who is dealing with these awful fires. Thankfully my dear Missy is out of harm’s way but there have been so many who aren’t so lucky. Bless the firefighters who are out there putting their lives on the line to help put an end to this. If any of our readers are out in California, we hope you’re safe.
Sorry, it’s been a busy couple of days. My sister went back to Berlin on Monday. Tuesday was election day (I hope all our American readers voted!). Wednesday I made the best baked potato soup I have ever made. I will post the recipe in the comments of this post if anyone is interested in it. Then yesterday I got the yen to bake chocolate chip cookies. So I found a pocket of time to post before I get started on the Mexican food we’re having for dinner tonight. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
I had a family party today that was tons of fun because my cousin’s son is about to turn two and he’s getting so big. I refer to him as GusGus, for those of you who don’t know. I posted the cutest video of him singing on my Instagram account today (if you want to follow me click here). I’m trying to get him to call me Mimi because I feel like that’s easier for him to say than Meg. We’ll see how it goes. Anyway, since I got home earlier than I thought I would I figured I would post the next chapter of our story. So here it is! Happy reading!
Big thank you to Ms Buffy for correcting me in the last chapter. That was Gene Kelly singing on Sookie’s phone and not Fred Astaire. My bad for not fact checking. I fixed it so we won’t look like a couple if ignoramuses. I would also love to hear any theories anyone has on where this is going. I’ve been reading it over to make edits and things in the last few days and I forgot some of the crazy turns this story takes in the upcoming chapters. I hope y’all stay with us! Also, of course, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Sorry for the delay! Missy’s come down with a nasty cold and I was busy yesterday with my sister. We spent the day eating junk food and watching scary movies. What better way is there to spend time with your sister? I’ll post again tomorrow. Promise!
